Whats the drive ratio for the AWD territories? A guy at work here was arguing black and blue that they are FWD, or AWD only, he's also saying they are 60% drive bias to the front, and 40% bias to the rear in the AWD models. Is this correct? I thought it'd be 60% rear 40% front.
(The ford website and commercials say they are RWD, or AWD, but he still doesn't believe me they are RWD)
Some facts on this would be nice, not assumptions.
Bias is 62% Rear, 38% front.
Try the attached link for a PDF document / press release from Ford.

Like Ford would make a vehicle in Australia that's based on Falcon mechanicals and suddenly it's a FWD :tosser1:

I can only imagine that he's thinking of the Escape rather than the Territory or maybe he's thinking of the Kluger (Camry based - therefore FWD bias). I assure you my RWD Terri has a normal North-South motor, regular Falcon gearbox, driveshaft, rear diff and ControlBlade rear suspension - that was a key purchasing decision for me.
lol it would be a funny site, a falcon I6 mounted east-west the thing would be as wide as a truck lol.
Some honda's have a North south motor but are FWD. I have no clue how they change the direction of the drive. The engine is also a 5cyl inline so I have no clue how its balanced either. Bit off topic but

Some of the Honda Legends had north-south engine (V6) and are fwd - the ones introduced around 91. Also most Audis do as well (except A3) and so do Subarus. Its not that hard, more like a rwd layout except the diff is in front of the gearbox & no tailshaft. Volvo S80 has a 6cyl transverse engine, so does a Daewoo or Hyundai or something and the Austin Kimberley 35 years ago (built in Australia).
PS awd Territorys have approx 3.9 diff ratio, rwd are 3.73.

The AWD has a 4.10:1 ratio
