Have had the Territory for almost three months now, and with only four km's of dirt to travel, the dust buildup on the back window was certainly a problem. With the new dust deflector now fitted, hardly get any dust on the rear window and door, only a thin film can be seen when traveling to work.
Well worth the investment for the frequent dirt road traveler.
A happy camper!
I travel on quite abit of dirt road and sometimes the dust build up is so bad you can't see out the back window at all, so it is good to hear that the dust deflector works as I have ordered one as part of my $1000 accessory voucher.

These two shots show how well the deflector has been working. Excluding the rain drop water marks you see on the back, the Territory hasn't had a wash in two weeks and only a little bit of dust has built up in the plastic moulding.
OK you still get fine dust, but minimal ripple buildup on the window as it was getting prior to the installation.
For the cost of the deflector and the 6hr dry time at the dealer, it was definately well worth it.
I also used my $1000 voucher for this item.
What is the cost of the deflector, my old man is looking at one for his Terry.
they dont look bad either.

Dust deflector about $136, plus one hour labour costs. Six hours to dry however.
There are instructions and can be fitted yourself if you think one is most capable.
What is involved?
is the 6 hours for the glue to dry?

There are a couple of clips that fit on each end, but there are also two strong double sided foam/tape mounts that stick in from each end. These two strips require an extremely clean surface and time to adhere before driving.
Regards Grahill
Thanks for that, i will let my old man know that it can be done ourselves.

The bonnet protector matches the dust deflector really well. The tinted is good for those with dark Territories.

I have the bonnet protector on my white TX AWD (makes it look meaner than without one) ... but I was thinking about getting the rear deflector as well ... not fur dust ... but for water spray when driving ... I am hoping it will keep a lot of the water spray off the back window.
I constantly have to keep the rear wiper on at highway speed in rain ... as spray accumulates quickly on the rear window.
Anyone know is the rear deflector will keep rain spray at bay????

Can't help you, as it don't rain much 'ere. When it does rain however we do get a bit of mud mist/splatter on the rear still.

I'd get it ... but the MRS doesn't like the look of it ... think it would be practical though ... but don't have the cash at the moment ... getting the 2nd row seat covers tomorrow when i get the 15,000km service done .. so that's going to cost me about $500 all up.

Earlier in this thread a few members mentioned a $ 1000 voucher... Was this a bonus of some sought ??? I'm about to order (Please let the Bank say yes), but the dealer hasn't mentioned this deal...

I think the $1000 voucher was only for Territories purchased and delivered prior to December 31 2004. You get a better discount on the vehicle itself now!
Drove up the St Albans Rd today from Wisemans Ferry then through to Bucketty on 40km of gravel road. Looking through the back window I thought it was mud splatters and wanted to wash the back window. Stopped and found the back window covered with dust. Time to invest in a dust deflector.
Very happy with the handling on the gravel. If you haven't had your Territory out on some gravel then give it try.
Got the dust deflector fitted at first service ($140 inc GST and labour) and tested it on the weekend. Went down some tight, dusty side roads up the Blue Mountains (nothing more than 20kmh) and collected a good amount of dust ... but not as bad as without the deflector. Once back on the black stuff I was able to increase speed to over 60kmh and watched the accumulated dust get blown away. Only area not to be cleaned was under the rear wiper.
Then got it on a faster section of dirt (80kmh) and the window was kept clean. A good investment.
I have a winter white model and you get a black deflector with Territory on it. The black is a good match for the rear window but not fussed with the white 'Territory' writing.

Mate grab your newspaper Sun/The Age and ring your dealer has been going on at least a month. If really worried ring ford as they should be able to tell you promo dates.$1000 factory bonus. It appears in the add with the mk2 xt falcon for$31990 and the ford fiesta the add has a tx territory in it not sure if it only applies to TX though.
$1000 voucher (at least in Qld) was valid on TX only if signed by end August. The dealers were not to keen to give it away with discounted price, however. Check the Ford site for details.
Does this item only come in black with "logo" or can you get it in clear etc.?????
Does the colour coded spoiler do the same thing?
While on subject of protectors I'm sure soem one on the forums has a bonnet protector in clear with no logo, is this a Ford Item or aftermarket.??

My understanding is that it only comes in the 'tinted' black colour with the logo - looks great on the Lightning strike territory. The colour coded spoiler doesn't do the same thing - it is more of a cosmetic item.
Our Terri doesn't do any dirt road driving, but even just for keeping everyday road dust off the back of the car it works well - bit of a bugger to wash under though.
I have a Winter White model and a Ford-supplied clear bonnet protector with no logo.

The dust deflector works a treat. Good in the rain too... you can see the airstream from the deflector on the wet glass, in the rear view mirror.
