View Full Version : Territory Sunroof????
Just curious as I am looking at purchasing a new Territory but I have not seen one with a sunroof. Are they available as they are not listed on fords website. ??????
not avaible as far as I know
Not avaliable i thought as the roof is structually weakened in case of roll over, or i could be wrong.

There is one or two after market spots that will do them, not sure of the exact details, I know when I was taking one for a test drive the sales guy said they send them out to get done but didnt really recommended it
yeah but say ta ta to your warrenty then, not to mention insurance. Sunroofs are cool, but not worth voiding for.
We have a Ghia with a sunroof. I'll take pics tomorrow.

There is no official sunroof and no recommended aftermarket sunroof - sorry. I have seen some fitted with aftermarket SR's and they looked ok but had difficulty sealing around the roof ribs. I would also be asking questions about how it is fitted in relation to the B pillar structural member (between front and rear door).

Territory- are there any plans for a factory fitted sun roof? - sorry couldn't resist after the previous post on oil coolers!

It would be interesting to see how they install them considering the side air bag curtains.

And no there is no structural issues with the car. If we fit we warrant it too. It has been on the car for 6 months and there has been no leakages.

out of interest, how long would the sunroof guys need a car to retro fit one?
Probably a couple of days Adam, but I'm not too sure.

Can you have a sunroof with a REX?

Just guessing (as the sunroof is aftermarket) but I'd think the attachment points for the REX would foul with the cavity where the sunroof glass would retract into...?

Also looks like the GHIA in the picture shown lost it's roof mounted bin as well to accommodate the sunroof too.
It's the same situation with sedans that have the bin too.

I can't believe Ford planners aren't keeping a factory fitted sunroof option up their sleeve for a future release. My opinion is that alot of the target market for the Territory are the same type of people that go for sunroofs. This is my first visit to this forum so I have a question? Do industry people ie: on manufacturing side not retail, visit & post on this forum anonymously revealing an insight to upcomimg product offerings?

Only the ones who arent worried about losing their job. Great to chat, just need to be extra careful about what they say.

Looks great, but I would be concerned about sealing as the vehicle ages, those strengthening ribs will have some affect on seal quality.
Another thing, "no structural issues", without proper testing & engineering certification that is a big statement to make.
I like sunroofs, but I have seen a vehicle after an accident with an aftermarket SF, it wasn't a pretty sight, neither was the rear passengers face.

Ford are way ahead of the game....look at the fuse and relay box under the Istrument Panel. Look at Relay 33....Hey Guess What? In the Workshop Manual it is marked SUNROOF and Power Seats!
That's what happens when you use a component from the BA Falcon...
I just spoke with Dealer and rang Ford, both of which told me in no uncertain terms - I cannot have a sunroof installed on delivery, the dealership will not fit one. Reasons? One was the roofs integrity, second was the affect the sunroof would have on the side airbags - no other explanation given or more information. Suffice to say, my mates SX GHIA has a sunroof fitted by a Victorian dealer prior to delivery so confusion still reigns on this issue!

When I bought my ghia two weeks ago i asked about fitting a sunroof. As already mentioned they wouldn't fit one for me but the salesman mentioned the company Webasto as an aftermarket choice.
