How many kilometres has your Territory done? What type of roads do you drive mostly? How are your tyres holding up?
I have heard rumors that these tyres tend to go out of round, and may be the cause of my intermittent steering vibrations. Sometimes it is there, and other times not. Go around a corner and it is there again. All at different severities. A couple of times the vibration is so bad that my hands are really shaking. The dealer has checked everything and all seems OK. Re-balanced and all.

Hi grahill,
I can't recall is your an AWD or RWD model? They have different tyres.
My AWD now has 12,800kms and all seems fine. Mostly fair-to-good bitumen roads driven with sensible enthusiasm. The AWD sure pulls em out of corners well :)

RWD, vehicle with Goodyear brand.
Regards Grahill
I've just gone past 16,000km in my RWD Terry on Michelin tyres. All city driving and not a problem so far.

So if I have a RWD and Goodyear Integrity, why is your RWD Michelin? Did you or Ford change?

Both RWD and AWD get Goodyears. Both are similar but RWD are road biased tread and AWD are more offroad biase. I assume FastXR has changed his wheels...
D'oh!!
My mistake - got confused between the Terry and the Santa Fe we have at work. I normally have the Terry but have been driving the Santa Fe the last week or so. Yes, it has the Goodyears as well.
Sorry about the confusion!

I've only done just under 6,000km on mine ... and I've had no issues with tyres at all. I drive it to work occasionally and drive it with enthusiam through corners ... and it grips pretty damn well for a vehicle of it's size.
I know the RWD is slightly sharper than the AWD ... but I found the AWD to handle damn well ... it surprises a few people on the road to say the least.
Oh .. I drive a two-tone white TX AWD
It has been a while since I have posted. Happy New Year to you all.
I am due tyres now for my RWD Territory Ghia, Kmart have a sale on for 245's Goodyear Integritys for $245 fitted with free wheel alignment. My tezza has done 45Ks and when I got it services the other day, the service manager said you have another 5-7000km to go.
Do you think this prices is cheap? Goodyear are so far outstanding amongst other japenese or aftermarket named tyres.
I have also just had my 45K service done and service guy said I might be able to do another 45K - I personally think he is dreaming. He showed me the wear markers and there was about 3-4mm left. I would be very pleased with 15K given I am nearly 3 years through a 4 year lease and thinking about buying the car at end of lease as I enjoy it so much and 75K projected after 4 years is not much.
PS. I started reading the thread from the top and there are Grahill, Raptor, and Mechan1k talking about having done around 10K on their cars and I got really confused but then saw these posts were done nearly 3 years ago :) This forum has collected so much useful information about the Territory.
Hi, My terri is a RWD 2006 SR. I have just replaced my original tyres, Goodyear Integrity 235 X 60 X 15. I have [B]85000klms on the clock and have travelled not only on the highways but on dirt as well and 40000 was towing a 1800kg Full caravan.
I check tyre pressures weekly and balance wheels every 10000klms. Pressures are 38psi all round except when towing and i inflate to 42psi.
Overall no complaints with Ford

Grahill,
My SY TX RWD has just clocked 10,000k's. They have been running at 38psi from day 1 (all round) and I have just noticed this afternoon, after washing her, that the front tyres are starting to feather at the sides.
They are running the standard Goodyear Intergrity tyres for the RWD models and is driven mostly around the city with some occassional highway travel.
Will get this sorted at the next service due in 5,000k's.

Shane ... are they feathering on the insides?????
I just had to replace my front set ... it was due to excessive play in the front lower ball joints (didn't notice they were worn until i had a safety check at a suspension place) ... this cause more wear in the inside edge of both front tyres.
Other than that ... my other two that are still on the vehicle have quite a fair bit of tread left ... they have been on there now for about 40,000km.
Oh ... i am running Integrity (RWD) tyres on my AWD as well.

I got this price from Ford recently as well. They had a deal on that they'd match the cheapest price I could find on them.

I tried my local ford but $260 each and $50 to machine each disc(JAX is $25) is an insult. Jax gave me the price straight up so they get my business. I am not a fan of places that start out with high prices and then expect u to haggle them down. I am bit funny like that i am not always after the cheapest price quite often will give my business and $$$ to business' that either provide a great service or that do that little extra. Prime example is DSE powerhouse i will usually buy stuff from there cause they provide great website and stuff is setup in the store so u can have a play. Harvey Norman never gets my $$$. Supercheap auto, my local one sucks azz, even though they usually are cheaper i will go elsewhere cause i know that supercheap is a mess, staff have no idea and quite often are out of stock.

Hmmm ... I wondered why my lower ball joints were replaced at last service - maybe it had something to do with me asking about tyre wear. Service guy pointed out the wear also on the inside.

I had a safety check done at a suspension place ... as I noticed inside tyre wear ... they told me about the ball joint on the driver's side ... I took it to Ford and they replaced both front ones under warranty ... Ford also found my front diff bushes werre torn ... and they replaced those under warranty no questions asked.

Hi Mechan1k,
From what I could see, it is the outside that is starting to wear. Could your problem also cause this or could it be an alignment problem?
In any event, I think that I need to get this sorted sooner rather then later.

I have some 50000 kms on the original Goodyears. Tyre wear is excellent and with some luck may get another 20-30 k's.
65k, probably another 10k before replacement. Sealed roads 99%. Highway driving. I get the wheels balanced, rotated and alignment every 10k.

Hi,
Have TTG which has 235/55/18 Goodyear Fortera’s
Just changed them at 57,000 km
They where still legal i.e. not down to the bars, but as I’m going on a 21 day /5,000 km road trip I wanted the peace of mind and bought three new ones.
The spare hadn’t been used so I kept the best of the originals as a spare.
I guess if had rotated them including the spare I would have got maybe 70,000 km out of them.

AWD SY Ghia, 65k original tyres still OK...just.....looking for new rims & tyres now!
Had to replace both rear at 37K, outside shoulder worn on both and down to tread wear indicator on the left, two front originals now on rear and at 48K, I would strongly
advise that you get a proper 4 wheel alignment done, my normal dealer and a BJ store didnt pick it, but another ford dealer found the the rear was out from day one, which caused the premature wear. My terry is only a RWD.

27,000km on my integrity tyres, mostly city driving, will be lucky to get another 10k.

RWD integritys need replacing now at 47000k ... but my wife is a hoon!
53K on my Forteras which were replaced with maybe 10k left on them if the guy who bought them keeps his missus away from the driver's seat. Heavy foot on accelerator or brakes always = shorter intervals between sets needing replacing. Must be once we get above 5,000rpm :)

Just clocked 53,500km. RWD with Integritys. Got another 5 or 6k left in them. Never had an alignment, balance or tyre rotation. Kmart want $249 f/b. Bob Jane's want about $330. B J's said they must be copies for that price and did not believe that we had got that many kms out of a set of Integritys. They said most poeple only get about 25k out of a set on a Terri. Thats one BJ store that will not be getting our business.
I got over 60,000 km on my original set of Integrity’s and they had about 7,000km more on them. The 2nd set are sitting in my garage with over 60,000 km on the rears and about 40,000 on the front, and all still with reasonable tread on them.
So that BJ shop should be called the BS shop..LOL

I replaced the original Goodyears at 64K. Had a little left to the marks but being winter (where it is supposed to be wetter) I erred on the safe side. Put some Hankook tyres on and they are much quieter than the Goodyears, I am not sure that it is a good thing as now I can here all these creaks and groans from the car that were not there before.
Just replaced all 4 Fortera's with a set of Kumho's at 45,000km's on AWD Ghia
