I have a falcon ute with E-Gas and love it! I pay $35 for 500 kms and you cannot tell it has less power than the petrol brother.
They have it on the falcon sedans, wagons and utes so why can't they put it in the territory?
I mean its only a different fuel tank with minor engine configurations.
If one was released I would buy it straight away! The fuel prices now days are not worth paying for...

My guess:
More dollars have to be spent on testing it's crash safety with a LPG tank in place of the petrol tank.
To get the same travel distance from the gas Terri, a 100L tank would be required & there is not much room under the Terri.
Because petrol sales volume are much higher than LPG vehicles (guessing at 95% petrol), Ford pushed the petrol versin out & are now working on a LPG version.

Gas excise subsidies run out fairly soon so no real benefit in the long run.

That's right, convince everyone that gas is cleaner and better for the enviro, then slug them the tax. Typical, just bloody typical!! :jab:

I don’t think you would get much gas tank capacity in the factory fuel tank location at all, you would be looking at a multi-cylinder scuba tank style setup which are not very volume-efficient. I suppose you could put a tank in the spare wheel space but doubt it would get through crash safety requirements (Ford’s if not ADRs). Even if you did, where would the spare go? No space for it inside except as a 5 seater, I suppose you could do an old-school 4x4 bumper mount…
I think diesel is the only viable option for an economy oriented Terri.

I agree.
Spend the development dollars on a diesel alternative.

I have heard that Ford might be taking on the Euro turbo diesel engine ... I think it is used in the Land Rover/Discovery models. Much better economy, and very punchy as well ... much better torque. And economy is meant to be a hell of a lot better.
The Euro turbo diesel engine are far better developed over there due to their government hold back the taxes on Diesel there ... the majority of passenger/commercial/recreational vehicles made/sold over in the UK are turbo diesel ... and they aren't slugs either.
This is still in the pipeline from when I have read.

Underfloor mounted spare and underfloor storage area/third row seat mounting points leave next to no room for the gas tanks.

Under vehicle, left hand side, about centre slightly rearwards.

mines on gas and costs a third to run, I only get 350 - 400 kays out of a tank though (68L capacity)

You're a lurker... first post in this thread for 3.5 years. But very good feedback on gas economy. What is the difference in performance and can you post a picture of the tank?

There is a variance in performance most of the time is just as good but every now and then you put your foot down and it just wont go. LPG varys where you buy it. see below link where i had the job done (not my car)

Thanks. Where did the spare tyre go and what's that switch on the centre console?
For those who have not followed the LPG forum lately, Icom JTG LPG liquid injection now offers Territory owners a practically invisible install with more power than petrol and much improved fuel economy over vapor injection. The pictures of my converted Tezza will appear today or tomorrow in the liquid injection thread. Anyone who is considering LPG conversion for their Territory should give very serious consideration to this kit, it sets a new benchmark for LPG conversion.
