Hi fellas,
I dont want to start a "what will be in Mark II" thread, but was wondering if anyone has read or heard what (approximate) time frame that the Mark II Territory is due to be released. My wife and I are debating as to wether to soldier on with our current car, so we can either get a Mark II or a good deal on a then superceded Mark I.
Cheers,
Daniel
The Territory hasn't been out a year, and you are asking for a Mark II release date? Just get a current one, they are a GREAT car, and it will stave off any waiting pains. The Mark II will only better a great car, in the same way the Mark II Falcon has. We might see a 6 speed Auto though.
Not this year maybe next (2006).
I expect the 6spd auto will be in FPV & turbo models late this year but I wouldn't expect it in all the mainstream Falcon/Territorys until 2006 at the earliest. They may even hold off until the all-new Falcon is released sometime in 2007.

And where is all this 6 speed auto information coming from?
It is speculation, with a bit of truth involved from Fordforums.com. We have a member called Territory who is an insider in Ford, who has some information. I would say that engineering a 5 Speed auto into the Falcon / Territory would be a waste, when Ford can borrow the Jaguar 6 Speed, and easily make that the Falcon Gearbox. They could also take the Land Rover Discovery 6 Speed, which is a really nice box. I have driven one, and I hope Ford Au take that over the Jaguar Box. I couldn't see the Falcon with a 'J' Box.

Sorry but you read it from someone else. I am the same 'Territory', yes I work for Ford and I definitely havent provided info on future ideas. I am happy to listen, answer questions and discuss ideas being tossed around by others, but that's as far as I can go.

Don't worry Territory - we'll vouch for your tight lips if they try to fire you.

Having 'insiders' partcipate in these forums is invaluable because in the long term the feedback we give them brings us better Fords - but we need to respect the position those people are in by not putting words in their mouths or dumping on them. Wild speculation is part of the fun in the auto game - lets just enjoy it! Now when's the release date for new2ford's Rover V8 powered Territory I wonder..?

Kudos to them for hitting the nail right on the head, everyone else has speculated but they were the first to get it right. Suprising it took so long.
Let me apologize. I never meant to say that it has been directly said, but speculation is it. It is just one of these things that once you read so often you convince yourself that it is true. I will vouch for anything not said. There is nothing worse than a community that piles on top of each other, putting words in each others mouth. I am sincerely sorry Territory, I know you have kept your mouth shut, and I understand the fragile position you are in with Ford being your employer, and their secrets act.
