de-activating the panic button on the remote

My terri is fitted with the optional ford alarm, and this has a red panic button on the key fob that activates the siren when pressed. Trouble is the 5 yr old always wants to open the car, and half the time he ends up pressing the panic button. I read in the manual that this can be de-activated by the dealer, but don't want to go there just for that. so if anyone knows the process of de-activating this I would be grateful for the information.

You can deactivate 5 year olds without having to take them back to the dealer. Just don't let anybody see you giving that clip on the ear!
