I have a Titanium diesel. It has rear air vents on the b-pillar. I find that being big help in circulating the air making the aircon more effective. The aircon is powerful enough in my opinion.

We all need to be a bit realistic in that if the car has been parked under the 40 degree sun for a few hours, the aircon got to need a min of 15 minutes to cool down the car. I usually leave the sunroof open in tilt position to let some hot air out when parked under the sun. The inside shade can be closed as it has some airvent as well. I also put up a shade on the windscreen to lower the effect of direct sunlight to the dash and steering wheel.

With the amount of torque that the diesel engine has, I don't find aircon dragging down the car performance as much as any petrol car I drove before.
