The A-pillar issue isn't so much about having to move your head.
Dad used to have a VE Calas-V, and it was more about blocking out peripheral vision.
i.e when you're looking where your driving, it just obscures objects to the side more-so than most other cars.
I liked how the car drove, but it's something that definitely stood out and bugged me.
I however do agree that it would not be a simple fix for a model update.
