If you work it out over a year, even paying 50 cents extra a litre if you do 500km a week is around $1000 a year if your car averages 10l/100km. That’s actually not that much when you think about how much interest rates etc could rise.
I’m lucky, my commute is only 40km each way and I won’t away at least 4 days a fortnight.
