You obviously don’t live near a beach you can drive on. 100’s of dual cabs down the beach every weekend with family’s, surfers and fishermen. I’m a tradie but don’t use my Ranger for work. My criteria for a car is,
Must be 4x4 (for beach use)
Must be able to hold a fair amount of gear (for holidays in the caravan)
Must seat 4 (two kids)
Could I get away with a 4x4 wagon? Absolutely, but I like being able to throw wet surfboards, wet dogs, bikes, and any other dirty items in the back and hose it out. I’ve picked up turf, soil and mulch ect. It’s not stuff you do everyday but it’s good to have the convenience there when you need it without having to buy/borrow a trailer. I’m sure I’m not alone, my thoughts anyway.
