Daewoo Motors ceased to be an entity in 2002 when it was purchased by GM. By 2005 GM had completed the takeover & the Daewoo name existed only as a badge on South Korean Chevs.
Not a lot of parts or design shared between the J200 & the J300.

Sorry I understand you have a few of these cars in your family. and no doubt they have evolved to be a better car than the original Lacetti.
Just like any 80s 90s car from the land of the rising sun is a better car now too....
The Cruise is made in the 22 year old Gunsen factory ex daewoo, they didnt go making a new facility as far as I can see.
GM announced last year the failing Gunsen factory would be closing.
