Sounds like a different issue to the issues above with the speed sensor.

I would get a second opinion from a reputable transmission specialist - not a spare parts replacement centre like the dealership.... I can recommend one in the ACT if you are close?

Failing that, I would look at a lower KM second hand box from a wreckers. I'm sure it would be a cheaper option.
