Well I slotted into your conclusions with my old man buying an EH Premier 179 in 1964 (Portsea Blue).
By the time I got to driving in the early 70's I ended up with a HK Belmont 161 to get me started. But really an HK Monaro 327 V8 was an Aussie car I would have liked to own.
