The NA Fairlane is based on the EA Falcon. Being a 1990 model, it should be like the EAII which got the 4spd auto and was a big improvement on the 88' models. If looked after, they can be a great car. They can blow headgaskets occasionally, and check that all the power windows work smoothly. Overall, if it runs well and everything works, I'd buy it.
