Using Unweighted data from USA CDC Weekly Deaths by State and Cause of Death
I Graphed week 1 51 of 2018 against 2020, for total deaths, and for deaths from respiratory disease.
For respiratory disease (which I assume most COVID death would be coded as in this data) - the data lines are not significantly different, in total 2020 is 5% lower.
When I look at total deaths the lines are a little more divergent but 2020 is only 3% higher.
Please someone tell me what I did wrong
