Depending on where you go, you have to book a time, some public inspectors have let it go to their head that they have the power to screw you around, but some are quite good, I pit cars on my Mondays off, caravans and trailers on a regular basis anywhere from 4 to 10 a month and have been through most of the ones south of the river, I have found 1 good one who will call me if a globe or something minor is wrong, giving me the opportunity to fix it rather than it failing, he also lets me drop them off anytime without a booking, so he gets them all now

I remember getting a fine for not displaying my current rego sticker about 6 months before they canned them here, I bet he knew it was happening too.
