I tend to agree.My AU Futura has lived outside for 3 years that I have had her-rain,hail or shine and is rust free.I make a point of opening all the doors and boot and bonnet after washing,and after heavy rain too when possible,so excess water drains properly.And considering I wash my car almost every weekend,that's a pretty good testimonial to AU's design in regards to water trapment and drainage.
But like any car,once rust gets a foothold it's damn hard to stop spreading.
