I think a lot like you Rob. If it aint broke, dont fix it. But I recently gave my 500 away to a friend as a gift as she was getting into riding. It was also a good excuse to see what the hype is all about.

Seriously though, before you shop for one, make sure you check out the Wahoo features on this. Its stupidly easy to set and all via a smart phone app. Has bluetooth connectivity for instant Strava uploads. Has the Live tracking option for anyone you want to see where you are at any given time. That is something you can opt out of too, but generally if you specify an email contact for Live tracking, it will give them a notification that you are mobile and they can see exactly where you are on the move.

The battery life on the unit is awesome too. 15hrs straight with back light on.
