Yep, beef cheeks are great, but now have the same cost/popularity problem as lamb shanks. It was only 15 years back the in-laws used to buy & cook shanks for their Siamese cat, because they were that cheap.
Brisket used to be cheap, so too beef ribs, but all the hipsters are onto them now, quadrupling prices in less than a decade. Osso Bucco as well.
Even pork shoulders have become dear lately compared to what they used to be.
