To me its mostly not worth driving - I generally bum around Adelaide a few times a year and I drive over.
7.5 hours there -1x day of annual leave
7.5 hours back - 1x day of annual leave
You lose two days of leave just commuting to/from.
Flight on QANTAS is like $150 each way, 1.5 hour flight, depends on how much travelling about the city you want to do but you're not losing the two days of annual leave in transit + fuel.
Its significantly cheaper to fly and Uber about rather than drive taking this into account.
