already having a job.
it shows you are keen to work, you WANT to work and you wont settle for second best.
sure, loyalty can be questioned, but 90% of the time, they will consider someone more highly if they already have a job over someone that just bums around all day doing nothing.
i would take what you get offered, use it as a base/reference/whatever, and then try and get the job you really want.
as for employment agencies, i have been through a few in my time and i can honestly say, while some of them do take the time to help you and look after you, at the end of the day, i have gotten all my jobs outside of the agencies.
