I don't think anyone actually believes the Corvette is some sort of Saviour for Holden, for many reasons (price, projected sales) but mostly because its not going to be sold here or badged as a Holden.

The Holden brand, for new car sales at least, became useless when they stopped making car's here... GM needs to get rid of the name and sell car's here as Chevrolet (for normal stuff) and Cadillac (Luxury stuff). They could keep the same dealers, etc just rebrand them to be in line with the USA. THis is, if course, assuming that GM even wants a long term presence in Australia...
