There goes a lot of allies
Global Times is a bit like Sky News / Fox News on the Chinese side. I would read their content with a pinch of salt

Having said that, its obvious. Germany didn't play ball with Trump's G7. Trump took huge offence to it, made some insulting remarks, then coincidentally withdraws troops. It is Germany's turn in the rotational Head of EU sitting. Next 6 months will be interesting. UK needs both US and China trade deals post Brexit.

Not sure if people missed it, for the first time in history, less than 50% of China Russia trade was done in USD. They are moving towards local currency and the euro. Soon, US sanctions will no longer be a weapon they can throw around.

Then we have China and Iran getting very cozy, and China helping the Saudis with nuclear programs in exchange for oil. The Saudis have reach everywhere, they are not an insignificant partner.

Things are changing very fast.
