Came across this post to make all of us envious, the Iranians have busted a tanker smuggling diesel out from Iran to Qatar, the reason they do it is the large arbitrage profit available:


"This has nothing to do with sanctions, or at least not with US/UN sanctions on Iran.

Iranians can buy petrol/diesel at a discount for personal use.

The 250.000 liter of diesel can be bought in Iran for $22.5k and can be sold in Qatar for $127k.

Diesel in Iran is sold for USD 0.09/liter, 0.341/gallon. Qatar is a short distance, there diesel sells for USD 0.508/liter 1.923/gallon."



Hahaha, how about the prices we pay!!!
