Check:
a) He hasn't added a magnet or an electronic device to the key ring?
b) He not next to something transmitting a radio signal or electrical field or a magnetic field?
c) He doesn't have the other vehicle key fob or a fob from another vehicle somewhere close without realising it (you cannot have two active fobs within the Smartshield antenna field at the same time)? I have seen people put on a coat etc they have not worn for a while and found they had an active "lost" key fob in one of its pockets.
Does the light ring around the key barrel go on? Is the remote fob battery good (put a new one in anyway)? Has he check all fuses? Especially
BEM fuse.
In any event, what were the sequence of events leading up to the no start between when the vehicle last ran and he tried to start it again.
