By definition that means no warranty, so needs to be reliable and easily repaired by Muggins.
She wants to be able to haul friends and dogs around, so definitely leaning more towards the upper-mid sized.

Unfortunately when dialling in the requirements, the top 100 candidates are all Craptivas. we may yet end up there, but hoping to explore other options.

Fords are mostly out, due to I suspect most in the range having the power****.
Had a look at the Nissan Joke, but apart from being a hideous monstrosity, the cargo area looks useless for dogs. Maybe a Squashi would be better?
