Doesn't change reality. You can hissy fit all you want about your "rights" and what everyone else should be doing, but if they aren't doing it the only thing between you and that wheelchair is your own self preservation instincts.
Of course that was the attitude we were brought up with in the 70's. In this age of OH&S and PC everything is someone else's fault, no matter that it's your life falling apart.
