It's certainly different bundy, for what it's worth and I know my Saloon is different to your Wagon but here's a crop of my rear spring (before the upgrade) showing it's setup. I do recall that it's positioned in a hole but not bolted in place which is fine.
I'm wondering if it'd be easier to fit a teflon block or something similar. The only path that I considered were airbags fitted to give a bit of lift. I reckon I'd go the airbags simply because they're adjustable to your load. That or if your springs are tired and a tad saggy an upgrade of those to a better ride height might be on the books. (or coil overs pending on legality). Food for thought.
