Raising the vehicle would upset the wheel camber, resulting in premature tyre wear. The camber would need to adjusted to compensate (hopefully you can). The wheel is no longer standing upright, with +/- 1 or 2 degrees of camber.
Same camber problem occurs when lowering a car, albeit in the other direction.
