My Type 5 has a cast iron bell housing, with (I think) alloy gearbox tail extension. All bolts are METRIC !!! The shift is just soooo much better than the Type F with the (my worn) linkages.
Size wise, I reckon it is even a bit bigger than the Type F (tunnel clearance is more limited on the top).
Check the numbers below.

All the Type 5 parts (box, bell housing etc) should have part numbers cast into them.
