Data valid as at 00:00 GMT January 16th, 2021.

Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting.

24 new cases for Australia and no deaths so the CMR is 3.168%. NSW recorded 12, Vic recorded 3 cases WA & SA recorded 2 each and Queensland recorded 1.

No new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.113% and active cases 62.

The UK had 43,152 cases yesterday and 1,295 deaths.

Just under 251k new cases in the USA yesterday and 3,830 deaths sees CMR fall to 1.667%. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences.

Other notable points:

Zambia (1,796);
Dominican Republic (2,370);
Bolivia (2,573) - 13.7% above the previous high;
UAE (3,432) - the 5th consecutive day;
Malaysia (4,029) - 21% above the previous high;
Lebanon (6,154) - 13% above the previous high;
Portugal (10,947);
Indonesia (14,224) - 23% above the previous high; and
Mexico (21,366) - 29.7% above the high yesterday;

... recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.
