Work mate was in the USA in 2007. Camping in the desert with the dune buggy things. There is this company that bring you a massive caravan then pick it up when you're done.
The guy who brought it out to them was in a v10 petrol. Pretty sure it was a Ford. He was not impressed with it. Says its loud, thirsty and not overly powerful.
I'd opt for a v8 diesel in Something like that.
