I think for BA/BF, the feel of the seek/resume buttons feels better (which also allows you to still use your cruise control when in tiptronic mode).
Guess it all depends on where you normally hold your hands on the wheel.
I'm pretty sure Jason can program the module to your choice, but you can't toggle between the two.
