Getting it out is a mission as they seem to have put some brackets to hold the dash over the top of the carpet. You have to cut the carpet around those.

The gear selector mechanism has 4*13mm nuts fastened to the underside of the car above the transmission.. Even with the use of a hoist I couldn't see any way of getting to them without dropping the tranny.. So the carpet had to be cut around that too :(

You then have to cut the new carpet in similar places to get it to refit back into the car..

All I can say if you don't have good quality floor mats, get some asap because in comparison to the E'Series updating or removing your carpet for cleaning is a royal pain in the a$$.

Mate, that sounds like quite an ordeal! The big question I have though is how much was the carpet?
