Default Re: WQ Fiesta XR4/ST150 with Mazda SP25 engine

Brakes

In the UK, The LR Focus (UK Mk1) has an ST and an RS model. The ST170 uses the same 2.0 Litre engine as the Fiesta ST150/XR4 - but is good for 129kW(!!). The RS was Turbocharged. The LR Focus was sold in Australia from 2002 up until part way through 2005, when the LS Focus (UK MkII) kicked in.

The US Focus from 2008 to 2011 was based on the MKI Focus.

The ST150/XR4 I believe has 278mm rotors up front and 240mm rotors at rear.

The ST170 Focus has 300mm front rotors that bolt right onto the Fiesta. The rear rotors and calipers from the ST170 also fit, and are 280mm. There are some ST170 Focii in Australia, but I suspect not that many.

UK spec Focus RS rotors are also a bolt-on fit, and come in at 324mm. They also have 4 spot Brembo's. But since the LR Focus RS did not come to Australia, that's not a cheap option.

The MK3 Mondeo Calipers will bolt on, but will still need ST170 rotors. However, Australia jumped the Mk3 Mondeo for some reason. We had the Mk 1 (HA/HB in Oz) and Mk2 (HC, HD and HE in Oz), the Mk3 was dropped, and then we picked up the MK4 as the MA/MB/MC and the MK5 as the MD. So the cheap Mondeo option doesn't look like an option.

There are also aftermarket calipers for the ST170 such as Wilwood that do six-spot calipers. With ST170 rotors, these are also a bolt-on fit for the ST150.
