thats true 7 years seems like a long time but government likes records to audit businesses, but the dodgy roadworthies are the ones they are chasing with this, say you know a mate with a roady license so you take in your drag car he does it for a slab, you sell it to the next guy who does 1000hp skids and kills 3 people down the street he says to the cops I thought i was all legal I brought it that way, everyone gets done. This is the extream but wouldnt be the first time a law has come in to be used for minor things.
