Most of the people that dislike them seem to do so on principle because we stopped making cars here.
I can relate to that. I've owned an AU XR8 200 and a VE SS, and if I could find one with less than 20,000 kms for around $20k so I had some money left over to compensate for lack of warranty I'd buy it.
But the other way of looking at it is that if you want a near new car with around 190 KW and a decent warranty for around $27k then what else is there?
So a lot of people probably don't buy them because its their dream car, but just because they are cheap for what they are, and at the end of the day not a bad thing, even if not a great thing.
