My Experience has been that all old PSTN phones that will plug into the voip out port on a router will work fine - that is the ones with what looks like a smaller version of an ethernet plug (Dont try a rotary dialler)
SideNote - why do ISPs insist on rubbish NBN routers ? They should all support dual band ac wireless and gigabit LAN. Or (better) give sufficient instructions to allow us to config our own choice of router with builtIn voip if needed
