As for the needle, mine is nowhere near the markers on the speedo...
ACC set on 100km/h for example and the pointer of the needle looks like it is saying 96km/h!!!

Whatever the number is just cruise for a for seconds at your required number and hit +. That way you don't accidently get the wrong number. Don't press it while still accelerating. Easy!
