from some research on the net all you do is push in the miliage button on the dash and keep it pressed in while you switch the car on, 15 seconds later the lcd will jump into 15 modes of which you can choose from.
let me no if youve tried it, i want to no if its harmful at all lol,
my car is new some one else try it first hehe

man this is mad, it works, turn it into a sticky, heaps fun

Step 1
Insert Key (do not turn it)
Step 2
Press and hold the Trip-Meter Reset Button.
Step 3
While holding the reset button, start your car and continue holding the button.
Step 4
Within 10 seconds, the display should change to "test" (written in a silly LCD font) and the needles will go nuts. Release the Button.
Step 5
Pressing the button will now cycle through some 15 different modes or more.
Breakdown of some of the functions:
1 Press - Shows a Gauge Sweep
2 Presses - Shows all 8's on the LCD (LCD TEST)
3 Presses - Illuminates all the bulbs on the dash
6 Presses - Shows DTC Troubleshooting Codes
7 Presses - DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER - MPH
8 Presses - DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER - KPH
10 Presses - DIGITAL TACHOMETER

The guage sweep doesn't work on my Fiesta. They just drop to the bottom of the range and vibrate for a little while :( work otherwise though

yeah I laugh to think anyone would ever be gullible enough to fall for that! Honestly think that guy, and those who sell the performance chips should be shot. Scum of the earth preying on people, no matter how stupid the suckers are that fall for it.

Sounds cool, I might give it a try. Just one question though, how do you get it back to normal?

Hang on, is this only for the LR Focus or LS/LT as well?

It says on that site "This document does not apply to the new Ford Focus (2005-)."

The trick works on LS focus - I did it this morning.

The difference is that you get a different set of outputs to scroll thru. There seemed to be all those described above plus a heap more although many were pretty useless to a punter like me. eg Apparently my focus' "Personality 1" is set to 57.

Tried this the other day, works. There's a crapload of stuff to scroll through to get to the goods though, so would be a bit of a hazard to fiddle with while driving...
