Default Pinto 5 speed.

Hi all,

Im building a 2l pinto in tc wagon at the moment. Getting to the point where it will be driveable soon.

Wondering if there were any Australian cars that came from factory with pinto and 5 speed?

I know the english use the type 9 etc but they seem to cost alot here. anything local that will fit fairly easily?

What do you consider a reasonable price? I've bought a couple over the last few years for my project and $600 seems reasonable to me. I had a Celica box in one of my escorts and it cost the previous owner about $1600 for the conversion....Bloody truck gearbox. Much prefer the type 9 as the ratios are good enough for a daily driver and it bolts straight in.
A friend of mine has just bought 3 in from the Uk, not sure how much they want but I'll find out if you want.

Only place ive seen them is a eurospeed.com i think its called. They want 750 for a used box. Seems like alot to me.

In the UK they can be had for 50 pounds. Would be good if you could get a price. How did they import them?
