Great to see DJR with a sense of humour. We probably wouldn't have a round here to replace the Abu Dahbi one anyway cos of the costs as has been said it doesn't cost the teams to go there, the Arabs pay for it to go. As for restricting advertising, we do it here anyway with cigarette adds as with almost every other country in F1 and rallying.
PS. Great to see Courtney waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy down the grid order in todays Eastern Creek show even though it doesn't really matter.

thats it, and there is many many countries that also ban alcohol advertising at sporting events... its not just the middle east.

Its also being pushed pretty hard right here as well...

The only ones who have any right to complain will be the marshalls if they have trouble distinguishing the cars. Red Army-PFFFT.

Love it, good to see there's a team that still enjoys stirring up the red army... Courtney doesn't deserve to have the n.o1 until he does it under the red banner....

It's got nothing to do with the marshalls. The painted numbers aren't even needed anymore, all cars are required to have the flouro numbers on the windows and windscreens. A lot of teams don't even have numbers painted on the cars anymore so really it's just a part of the livery, not an identifier of the car.

Yes true, so I hope they stay with the theme all yr, as like you say the vehicle number is fluro on the windscreen top LHS and side rear door's.
But anyway I somehow think that Holden uh hum Mr Simon MacNamara has seen this and read the message

I hope they keep it as it is too, they deserve it. Surely there are no rules on how a livery can/can't be painted??

Only if it was offensive etc or crude as V8 Supercar's is a family event but there is nothing offensive about it, Unless your Simon McNamara..

Just like Tobacco sponsor advertising is illegal in Australia. when the F1s where out here the 'West' team had to rework their sponsor logo, they changed it to the driver's name.

So what they should have done was have a driver called West.
