Will be a sad day when the falcon goes by by and we only have the ST to get round in.

Talking Re: Paint Protection on ST?

Hi all, am a new member to this forum and have been reading through a lot
of the treads and on reading this one thought this one deserved a reply.
I have an old EF GLI 95 in dark metalic grey and have struggled to keep
it looking good with quality wax polishes and still it is slowly failing.
I am buying a new Focus sport hatch in December and have gone white.
I have ordered window tinting and premium paint protection. The paint
protection comes with life time warranty and claims of never needing to
be polished. As i am in automotive industry Denmac Moorooka have done
me a good deal all up that i am happy with and found them very good to
get along with. As i know the parts men and service mechanics at Darra
i will be discussing all the things with them that people are complaining
about and hope i get straight answers and no run arounds.
I will be adding to this forum in the future with updates on how life
proceeds with the car and their service so lets hope all goes well.
I have ordered a manual with illuminated scuff plates and weathershields
and will add other accessories myself to finish it off. I will keep an eye
on the paint protection and if it fails it will cost them not me. Not sure
how to add images to the tread but maybe someone can assist with that
on a reply. Some good write ups here, hope they stay cool.

I don't know if it does anything or not but I got it on my ford focus sport..

Do not pay $1695 though ..that's what they offered me and I got it down to $995 for the X-pack paint/interior protection AND window tinting

It's just a clear film, like a transparent vinyl wrap.

Eventually UV damage will make it harden and go yellow

All these offers at $1695

I had my dealer offer it to me for $2695 (reduced "for me only" from $2995). After falling off my chair and having to be recovered from a heart attack, I politely declined (about 15 times)

When my partner and I were buying a base model fiesta with no options... they kept trying to sell it to us for just under 2 grand despite us saying no repeatedly.

I'm not spending 12% of the value of the car on cling wrap.

Not sure i beleive these prices as my price was nowhere near that.
If they were using something like this http://www.carcarecoatings.com.au/default.asp
Then maybe you could understand an all up price around a $1,000 but
more than that would be over priced. I cant say what i am paying as i am
in automotive industry ant they gave me a deal i know is good but
anyone can haggle for a good price and if they wont give in then no sale.
Don't be talked into something before doing homework and outside quotes.

I believe the prices, ex new car salesman here and have watched the aftermarket team change the price on the same "package" for different customers by as much as 1500! its all designed to earn the dealer money nothing else

I was offered window tinting for $1500 on a PX Ranger, this was over the phone and I couldn't stop myself from laughing, she dropped the price to $695 before she gave up, I got it done for $140
