what do people think of the publicity of the LPi so far?? for me, it seems its only talked about on ford forums like this - which is a miniscule proportion of the population. shouldnt there be TV ads or something to promote this?

There's been plenty of online car site articles and there ALL very positive....(see other LPi thread)....Ford have stated ther will be no t.v adds.

It may take the first month of new sales (fleet) to get the car out on the road and be seen and get some real world opinions but i'm sure they will all be happy and after that even private buyers will realise the benfits...

Also petrol has risen up to nearly $1.50 twice in Melb in last two weeks..

Problem is Joe Average doesn't read those sites. Ford tried selling e-gas to the public during the BF days with TV ads and that trip around Australia for $1000 stunt, so I'm sure they could do the same again with a superior product.

They are heavily promoting it to fleets, which buy the majority by a long way.

They don't seem to care about private LPG buyers. Probably just relying on word of mouth.

Dissapointing really. The LPi engine is the best chance to get private buyers to go LPG as it works so good.
