So the XR5 springs sit about the same height as the stock Zetec springs, but have a firmer rate? Good info! As to what to do from here though, I'm not sure. I can't remember very clearly, but how thick is the top spacer which the front spring locates to? I remember the rear one being quite thick...

Firmer rate it is. The xr5 springs are still shorter than the zetec ones (and the coil spring is thicker), so this means a similar ride height AFTER the springs settle.

From memory, the spacer was only about 10-15mm at the thicker end.

The Zetec is fitted with sports suspension from the factory, any option your dealer is offering would be after market.

I'll let you know if I end up putting mine in or not. If I decide not to do it you can buy the ones I've got if you want.

Sounds like the consensus is that it's worth doing as far as lowering goes, but only if you haven't already got the Zetec suspention. As for the firmer rate, that's a personal question I'm very happy with it...but now I need better shocks On another note, just done the ignition advance, let's see how it goes
