This item kicked off (December 15, 2004) as part of the then governments plan for a "National Driver Training Scheme", which has developed to date, into that which you see 'harmonsing' around each State and Territory, as the graduated L, P1 and P2 system, and its emphasis on the defensive driver components.

This is an attempt to remedy some of the bad driving habits parents pass on to their their kids. Basically, a single free lesson for ALL P1-learning applicants across the country, and it is hoped some will then take additional training.

This program is now running in TAS and will soon extend to other jurisdictions.

Slowly, things turn here in AUS.

You know, I should have given this thread a different title, this really is our *first* tentative step into driver training.

If it's accepted by the public, I'd expect it, this portion, to improve with time. I've posted the item out and about various forums to get the message across, albiet with a different title.
