Add my vote too, if it counts!

And agreed with your suggestion, the Terri and FG need to be sharpened to give an even impression between the three cars' visibility in the picture.

I choose SHARPEN!

to anyone interested in graphics .. I tried to match the focused focus for both gt and terri

Brightness/Contrast Adjusted
Hue/Saturation Adjusted to a slightly darker blue..
Color Levels adjusted
Added Shadows and highlights blurred out, gradient transparent, and cut out..
Highlighted mirrors and headlights..

That looks sensational! Just maybe adjust the shadows, they look a little off where they meet the noses of the cars.

the sharpness kills it. it makes the cars stand out too much and look like there is too much going on. the terri and gt looked spot on, if you could give the same effect to the focus you'd prolly be onto a winner. and add a bit of shadow under the cars to kind of mask the reflections, which arent 100%. the only other issue is, realy what you want the focus of the banner to be, the cars or the wording? the bright red of the flag takes away from the wording and the cars tend to take away from both.

check the aus starlet clubs banner. i reckon that is a winner of a banner.

To Director, Moderators and forum-members,

Thank you very much for all your input, criticisms, comments and votes to the banner... we surely made it went through a lot of phases..

I'm humbly offering this banner at its current state hoping you would accept as the new banner which will represent us all until later on when an update version is needed. Therefore, I will offer my services again if you choose to accept it, the same as other graphics designer would do - not expecting anything in return, simply for the love and respect for this forum.

Cheers

Jon (slickpencil)

Well perhaps the text could be stroked with a limited opacity so you'd still see the flag but the text would stand out more.

The only issue I notice is from the replies in this thread- is that theres a lot of members asking the mods and admins in this forum for a new update.. they might not be 100% happy with my design, but happy in an idea that at least it will be fresh from time to time. giving us hope that other future banners that will follow through would showcase their cars from different classes and from different eras.

This is the 'Australian' Ford Forums. someone said before we cant have FPV cars because it's a Ford forum not an FPV forum. so i guess the same applies to the euro Fords.

I love the falcon/Territory design from the start of the thread. but i guess changed to a TTG and a XR.

Well the current banner approved by admin has an FPV as the focus, so whoever said there can't be FPVs is a little mistaken. And while it may be 'Australian' Ford Forums, the discussion is not limited to just Falcon and Territory. I see this place as somewhere for Ford owners to discuss their cars among other things - those cars being the Ford and Ford-derived (FPV) range.. not just the locally built ones, otherwise we wouldn't have specific Euro Fords subforums

Just think, in 2012 the Focus will be built here!

I see no harm to have the Focus up there, even if it is a Euro car. I mean, in its own way, it is unique to Australia considering it shares Australias own 'XR' badge and they have ditched the 'ST'. But in saying that, you could make an argument to put almost any Ford in the banner.

Also, is a banner change actually on the cards, or is this just pointless chatter?

Nice work slickpencil. I join the others on here supporting your design for the banner. Your point about more regular updates is also a good one, keep things fresh.

I think the cars chosen are a nice balance, because basically if it is a Ford (including FPV) sold in this country from a Ford dealer i dont' see why it can't be on the banner. Its a simple standard to apply (this would include cars previously sold e.g. F series).

For mine slickpencil's design has a well chosen three cars. It has a nice spread of representation:

FPV, V8, Falcon (mandatory surely), Territory (important part of Ford Aus story), Turbo I6, euro ford represented, XR lineup represented, 4,6,8 cylinder represented and sig. diff. body styles as well.

If every few months it was updated to another spread of cars (possibly different eras etc.) then that would be great. For example, EL GT, F250, Laser.

Another vote for slickpencil's design. After seeing that, the current banner looks dull.

Ok I am posting in here because I got a heap of brown (not really surprised since I wasn't aware of this one) after starting a similar thread in the Pub.

Happy with what ever you guys come up with and if it has an XW in there that would be great.
