They have been building em in China for the last 20 years. Not sure if they are going to build the new model there, as sales were slipping. Seems even China doesn't like them.

And its a similar issue. Previously, being large and roomy, Buicks were sold as a premium brand in China. But now if you want a taxi, you'll go with a cheaper car, and the yuppies want something with a European badge.

I'm surprised there isn't a Hybrid version.

That wouldn't be far from the truth. I suspect GM's sales target was about 2,500 based on historical trends. With a minimum four month lead-time from Rüsselsheim means there may be at least 10,000 in the pipeline minus the 1,400 odd sold so far. My past experiences with Holden tell me these numbers are probably conservative.

It sounds like a disaster.

A FWD Insignia is NOT a Commodore.

Idiots !!

Sixth generation Buick Regale are all made in Germany along with commodore and insignia . GM had been planning to dump Opel for years

Congrats as I'm still waiting and looking for my first.

Although I did see two Do Do birds last week so that was cool

Surely the new V6 Commodore has to be better than the V6 VY was with the 6sp auto, now that it has more ratios, the VF V6 would go to 110kmh and then loose a lot of performance because 3ed gear was way to high, so when overtaking at 100kmh she was gutless dropping only back to 3rd and would drop back to 2ed under 90km/h, if I remember correctly.
But the new V6 auto should have the gearing to kill a VF V6 overtaking from 100kmh and on wards.
What are the ratios of this new auto anyway.

I can not find any ratios for the 9sp auto but that 1st is lower than the 6sp box and that 4th gear is a bit lower than 2ed on the 6sp box and that 5th is lower the 3rd in the 6sp and that 6th is lower than 4th in the 6sp box and 7th is a bit higher than 4th and that 8th and 9th are just about the same gearing.

So 3rd and 8th gears look stupid worthless gears.
5th looks better for over taking a 100km/h.
But as for tight winding roads maybe not that bad.

It looks as if the weight of the car is against it at 1737KG for the VXR, maybe it's not a bad car, but just one that does not inspire the greatness of what the old SS could, but wipe the floor with the VF V6 any day I would think.
Good car for the wife maybe.

They've succeeded in making the Camry desirable. Never thought I would see that in my lifetime...

Number 3 today - they are coming out of the woodwork!

I saw more Mitsubishi 380s in the first five months after that model was released.
