Im sure the Arrow coupe was a project between Roman-Autotek and Hillier Conversions. The same pairing also built the "raptor" ute, with its Gullwing doors...

The AU Venom ute is the tuffest car i have heard, that sound! Ford and Sony built two Xplod demo cars, one was a red AU Series one XR8, but the best was the gold AU2, with a V8 supercar style crossram manifold.

Ford also built a few EB XR8's as pace cars, and featured the EA GT bodykit, and the EB Cobra as a gift to Edsal Ford II

The 300+ coupe was a project by Milliard design, and used a supercharged 4.6 V8. The plan was to make it available in both 2 and 4 door versions. Atleast 2 coupes (one red and the other burgandy) and one green 4 door were completed. The company was hoping that Ford would offer the cars as a Ford backed option through dealers. But this was a year and a bit out from the BA, and i guess ford had more interest in that...

they should have made the au coupe, it looks good, it might have shut up a lot of the au knockers.

It was a BA Ghia that got turned into a GT, was used for driveline testing purposes. Hence the T3 rims - 18" wheels for development work. Was pulled to bits then restored to be put into the FDC.

No, they didn't.

They became optional wheels available form Ford (I had them optioned on my 06 Terry Ghia). They later blacked out the little recesses and they became SR pack wheels.

I think they're being stored in one of the defunct engineering sheds at Ford's Geelong complex.

It is a shame the R5 dual cab ute was never released however I fear it would have suffered the same fate as the crewman since it looks as though it would have been a very tight fit in the rear seats. Pity as that type of vehicle is exactly what would suit my needs now (assuming you could fit a person and/or baby seats in the back).

I don't think it was ever intened for release, the R5 was more a sneeky hint of future BA and territory styling changes...

Correct.

Remember this was first displayed in 2000, a few years before the BA and with the Territory still 4 years away.

Yet it previewed;
  • Strong hints of the BA Falcon frontal treatment.
  • Territory interior colour palate of black/orange/grey/eucalyptus.
  • Theatre seating (higher in the rear) later seen in the Territory.
  • BA door trim & dash with a few variations - round vents (SZ Territory).
  • Falcon based soft-roader, moderate ride height RWD/AWD.
  • Raised ride height ute - RTV

That or a Territory derived dual cab / pickup would have bulk sales. Equalling the Territory and perhaps even exceeding it's sales. So, probably 1500/month. I would seriously consider buying a new one. I'm sure many people would.

It would be awesome. I love the style, brings back some great memories of a great era. When doing work like this captured people interest and imagination, rather than now when you stick a v8 bulge on a 6 people carry on like pork chops.
